It is already 15 years that the Music Department of the Zurich University of the Arts welcomes students from Georgia for studies - from preliminary studies to Bachelor's and Master's degree, soloist diploma to special training courses. For this anniversary the association Vivace organizes a project, with the goal to bring together talented young musicians from Switzerland and Georgia through a cultural exchange, to promote their careers, to enhance the cooperation of the Zurich University of Arts and the Tbilisi State Conservatory and to tie the necessary international contacts.
PIANO BENCH PROJECT
During last visit Tamara Kordzadze (President of Association Vivace) found out that in Georgia's music schools were in bad shape. The music halls where regular concerts are performed were not equipped with standard piano chairs or benches. Children and young pianists used to have plain, very uncomfortable wooden chairs with no padding or possibility for adjustments.

Festival of Young Artists Bayreuth
1 – 31 August 2011
With the support of Mrs. Sissy Thammer and Mr. Daniel Draganov, the participation of four young musicians from Georgia - Mamuka Babuadze, Bachana Bekauri, Ana Mamisashvili and Ana Tigashvili - in the “Festival of Young Artists in Bayreuth” (Germany) became a reality. The students were trained by approved lecturers throughout an entire month in orchestra and chamber music, and they attended various workshops as well. Georgian Students were able to delight and inspire the local audience with several concerts.
Donation of a Violin
Because of Dr. Paul Roden's donation, a small Georgian musician has the opportunity to proceed with being educated on a proper
(3/4 violin) instrument.
Many thanks for this!
